The Five Elements are a language of relationships
Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water are traditional images for patterns of change. They are not five fixed personality types and they do not rank people as better or worse.
Five images, not five labels

Productive and restraining cycles
The productive cycle—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, then Wood again—uses images of one process feeding another. The restraining cycle describes how one movement can temper another. Neither is a moral verdict. A degree of restraint can be as useful as support when something is excessive.
Balance does not mean equal amounts
A balanced chart is not five elements measured into identical portions. Season, position, and relationships matter. Instead of trying to “fix” an element with a color, a product, or a quick promise, turn a reading into a grounded question: Do I need more structure, rest, connection, or room to begin?
